LEGAL
Republic of Srpska, as a part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a member of most EU and World economics agreements which causes no legal and business difficulties for foreign investors. Regarding basic tax informations, VAT is 17% and income tax is 10%, which makes it a good platform for future business opportunities for FDI. Process of opening a company in the Republic of Srpska is fairly easy. It requires 3-7 days for your business to be in operation, from the moment you arrive in the country.
COPRODUCTION OPPORTUNITIES
Regarding foreign co-productions with domestic film fund (AVCRS) main bullet points are:
Minority coproduction, which means that domestic film fund is contributing minimum of 5% of the total budget, falls under two categories:
If bilateral (maximum of two parties) co-production, domestic film fund is required to contribute a minimum of 10% of the total funds. If multilateral (minimum of three parties) co-production, domestic film fund is required to contribute minimum 5% of the total funds.
Domestic film production company, as your co-production partner, can apply to the public competition of AVCRS. Competitions for minor co-productions are held regularly.
OBLIGATED SPENDING
It is required that at least 80% ( this is subject to change) of all funds acquired from AVCRS to be spent on the territory of the Republic of Srpska and/or on subjects from the Republic of Srpska.
CASH REBATE
To encourage investors to finance productions in the Republic of Srpska, the government offers a 30% return on the total funds spent on audiovisual production works within the territory, in accordance with the budget provisions of the Republic of Srpska.
